OTEAcademy organizes the training course “Introduction to SQL”, in collaboration with Big Blue Data Academy. SQL Databases are the most established platforms to store and retrieve data and it is used by the majority of businesses, which makes familiarity with SQL an essential skill for everyone.

In this course you’ll learn how to read and write complex queries to a database using one of the most in demand databases, PostgreSQL. The commands you will learn are applicable to all major SQL databases, such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle.
Day 1
- Introduction to Databases
- SQL basics: syntax, statement fundamentals,
Day 2
- More advanced SQL queries: GROUPBY and aggregations statements
- JOINS statements
You will have dedicated use of an SQL Server for the database exercises to apply what you learn.
Course Outcomes
You will obtain a solid understanding what a database system and what the relational model of data is.
You will know how to retrieve data by creating complex queries
Learning Method
Active Learning, in combination with theoretical teaching and hands-on practice with guidance from the teacher and assistant. The teaching unit is in the form of a workshop with about 30 minutes of lecture and then with practice in hands-on exercises and problems.
